Adventures in Fantasy - A Call To Arms

Do you have a copy of Adventures in Fantasy? Are you both intrigued and confused by some of the rules? Are you interested in the rules but have become frustrated with trying to wade through some of the wording in the rules? Would you like to change that? I know I would and I am asking for some input if you feel the same way.

I have a copy of Adventures in Fantasy I bought several years ago on ebay for less than $20 before interest really picked up. As interesting as I have found reading through the game I never have felt like I "got it". There are some things that needed clarifying before the game was released and I wish that Arneson & Snider could have released a proper second edition of the game.

What I propose is simple - I am asking anybody interested to pull out their boxed set of the rules and start going through the books at your leisure. Just make some notes about whatever is confusing to you. I am going to do the same thing in the coming week. I will soon - in the next day or so - start a post covering the problem areas of Book I. I will start by posting the stuff that confuses me. Feel free to add to the list with other confusing spots or suggestions for fixes even. I will do this for Book II and for Book III also.

When we have all of the confusing spots cleared up we can do one of two things - we can assemble a Book IV: Book of House Rules and Clarifications to be used along with the boxed set or we can assembled a fan version that could basically serve as a second edition. If people are uncomfortable with the second option, we could do a game "heavily inspired" by the reactions to AiF similar to how T&T was first produced in relation to D&D.
