One of the things I like to do is to go to a shop or a Ren Faire and try out the different swords they have. I'm lucky to have a year-round shop here in Vegas (Z-Castle) and (Salamander Armoury) where you can get good swords anytime. I own a few and like to use them to help me visualize what a fantasy sword could look like, how it could be wielded, etc. in a realistic way. There's nothing like trying out a move or attack yourself with a real steel sword before trying to describe it in print.

That is a good suggestion. I have a sword that I bought in Prague many years ago, but maybe its time to get more... 8)
