Anyone here play in the MMRPG? - Havard - 02-02-2010 Did anyone here play in the MMRPG at cons or home games? I am interested in hearing about your experiences! Havard - Havard - 02-05-2010 This is how you get the MMRPG episodes for free: http://blackmoor.mystara.us/forums/viewtopic.php?t=204 Havard Re: Anyone here play in the MMRPG? - sheridan - 07-17-2011 I've GM'd them regularly for years, but always play instead when I'm at Origins or GenCon. The adventures are a lot more fun and fast moving than, say, Living Realms, but part of that may be due to the mechanics (3.5 vs 4) being used. There was a strong "campaign" feel to it too, as many adventures build off of, or at least referenced, items, people, and events from other adventures. This is one thing that I think makes the MMRPG really stand out: The references to other adventures, the original campaign etc. It really gives the whole thing an Epic feel. Its a shame that ZG never had the chance to publish them as print collections. Do you have any favorites? -Havard Re: Anyone here play in the MMRPG? - sheridan - 07-19-2011 I really liked the Epic of Hadeen series, the Redwood Scar/Contagion series (which tied into the Epic of Hadeen in episode 50, Prey), and the Temple Of The Frog/Mere Flight series, probably in that order. Re: Anyone here play in the MMRPG? - Havard - 08-22-2011 Sheridan, I agree that the Epic of Hadeen is great. I havent read the Contagion series yet, but I love the Redwood Scar so a follow-up to that should be very interesting. I will check out that and the Temple of the Frog one (of which I have also heard good things) ASAP ![]() -Havard Re: Anyone here play in the MMRPG? - Big Mac - 12-08-2011 sheridan Wrote:I've GM'd them regularly for years, but always play instead when I'm at Origins or GenCon. As a 3e-era Living Campaign, I would think that would have a much closer feel to the MMRPG, from a gameplay point of view. I suppose the same applies to Living City and Living Jungle from Forgotten Realms's 3e era, although I think they were much smaller areas that the MMRPG was. Re: Anyone here play in the MMRPG? - Yaztromo - 12-23-2017 I'm running it. Too early to give a final comment, through, but so far so good. Re: Anyone here play in the MMRPG? - TheMystic - 12-24-2017 For those of you who are playing through the MMRPG, I might add that there are additional adventures that only ran a single time. At the kickoff of the MMRPG season at Megacon in Orlando, we ran an event type that could only run a single time. For anyone familiar with Living Greyhawk or Living Arcanis, these are known as "Interactives". I am not certain that much of the materials survived, but at one point, we had some 15 tables of parties all participating in a massive battle (think one chunk of a LoTR movie scene) - It was super cool because we were also able to use siege works. Catapults would randomly throw sones into a table and players just had to deal with it. It's the most fun I've had running an event like that. I bring it up because the events that took place in those Interactives were hard plot points on the campaign and they represent some missing stuff that might make some of the later episodes appear confusing. I'll see if I can find those... If you are able to find any material from these interactive games it would be incredibly cool! ![]() -Havard |
