Tracy's HackMoor Campaign 2013/06/18 - tmjva - 06-25-2013 It has been almost a whole week and I have forgotten which kind of pizza we had. Due to the continuing results of the battle, things normally kept secret until it is over will be revealed as for the record. Last week we left the situation with several of the enemy caught in the monofilament web created by the grenade tossed in the room by Weasel. The uncontrolled Efreeti caught in the web disappeared. (For the record, they turned invisible.) GM's note: Aeon was held in the Well of Souls by some Efreet, was now held in place by the monofilament web, and took minor points of damage as he struggled in it. Additionally the enemy Fighter, used his weapon to free himself of the Web, but it took some rounds. Next the uncontrolled Efreeti turned Gaseous Form, and moved away. The party believed the Efreeti Teleported out so the Party advanced on the Well of Souls. The group with that had breached the secret door, with Bosero the Drunkard and made it there first, hacking their way through the web. Dolmin got to the Well of Souls first, and made the attempt to rescue Aeon. Of course being a Dwarf, he wasn't high enough to reach Aeon. As soon as Dolmin touched the Well, he died on the spot. GM's note: Apparently due to lack of Player to Player communication, no one bothered to inform Dolmin the known affects of the Well of Souls. I had to remind the Players due to the Well, there was no chance of resurrection for Dolmin. At this point, I handed control of some of the enemy to Dolmin's Player for which he played superbly. Of note, taking control of the enemy magic users, he cast a Disintegrate spell on Elefus, a spell that Elefus easily made his Saving Throw. I played a GM card on him requiring him to re-roll the Saving Throw and Elefus fails. Elefus Player is in utter shock, but wait there's more. Junkbot Jackson's Player who was nearby, played a card allowing him to accomplish a major feat. Declaring he would push Elefus out of the way and take the Disintegrate spell instead. Finding no reason against it, I found the play not a problem and allowed Junkbot to die in Elefus' place. Junkbot, ending up as dust, would not be likely to get raised nor resurrected, but reincarnation may be possible. Also somewhere along the melee Aeon got stabbed in the heart by the Barbarian Priestess and was duly sacrificed, also without possibility of resurrection. I think there may have been some Efreet wishes also cast along the way this session. Having three Characters slain this session was a major psychological blow to the party and we decided to call it a night. What is pending is the previously cast Summon Earth Elemental beneath the Well of Souls which was still developing these several combat rounds (as it takes a Turn to cast). The intent is to use the fully developed Elemental to tip the Well over into the lava pit, having two rounds to go, this may yet pan out. Also at the end of the next two rounds, control over the Grimlocks behind the party will be fully lost. Also during some quiet round in the midst of battle, Elefus receives a communication over the DA3 Communications Device that his NPC wife is pregnant. (Yes the same one who is divorcing him.) ++++ OUT OF CHEESE ERROR ++++ In order to give the Party some home, I choose to reveal at this time there may be hidden allies presuming they perform the correct choices. There may also be the possibility for Party renewal in a succeeding adventure. Provided of course they survive this one. BT BBBB PART 2.
