Re: Act 1, Scene 2: Scouting the Unknown! - Yaztromo - 02-14-2014 The rest of the night passes uneventfully and with the morning you are ready to resume your journey. The leagues stretch on, and you see a range of mountains in the distance ahead of you. You pass through several hamlets, and are surprised at the surly reactions of the villagers. As you pass the, you hear them muttering under their breath, and when you stop to refill your water bottles, they do their best to ignore you. The sun is low in the sky when you enter the small town of Lake Gloomy, in which lies the temple of Fourga. You could travel a few more hours if you wished, but you would have to spend another night in the open. What do you do? [please note that during this part of the day you have to consume 2 meals (lunch and breakfast) or lose 4 points of STAMINA for each one you want to miss. I will modify your characters sheets on this assumption, as it makes plain sense, but if you prefer saving the meals, just let me know and I'll ret-conn the character sheets] Re: Act 1, Scene 2: Scouting out the Unknown! - JesseOcasio - 02-14-2014 Hororin is bites into his lunch, a piece of dried salted meat, when he notices the temple Fourga in the horizon." Hey Ewart, there is the temple." Horrorin points, he then turns to his other companion."We should get in there and see what we can learn." Re: Act 1, Scene 2: Scouting out the Unknown! - Baldrick - 02-14-2014 "Perhaps we should head to the inn and ask around before we approach the temple," Grumm thought aloud as his war-pony trotted tiredly towards the outlying buildings of the village. "If those Elves we met on the road have anything to do with it, we may be in for more surprises yet!" Re: Act 1, Scene 2: Scouting out the Unknown! - JesseOcasio - 02-14-2014 "Yes, you are right Grumm. We should not throw caution to the wind." Hororin says." We must remember that a thousand eyes are watching." Re: Act 1, Scene 2: Scouting out the Unknown! - Yaztromo - 02-15-2014 You ride in the small town of Lake Gloomy and can notice almost nobody around. The few people walking outside closed doors don't look at you and hurry back home. All around you, there are locked doors and shutters nailed closed. You pass what must be the Temple of Fourga and ride on to what looks like a fair inn. While you approach, a man is in hurry, carrying a big cheese and a cured ham hurries inside the main door. By the time you come close, he enters, closes the door and turns a big iron key to lock the door shut. He keeps closing the lock and barring the door even after you knock politely. You just hear a distressed but confrontational voice from inside: "No vacancies!" Re: Act 1, Scene 2: Scouting out the Unknown! - Baldrick - 02-15-2014 Grumm walked up to the portal with a dour look on his face. Reaching down to his belt, the Dwarf pulled two gold coins from his purse and began to rub them together noisily in his hand. "Are you sure you couldn't be convinced to open your fine larder and taps for us? What makes you so fearful, that a glint of gold wouldn't change your disposition?" Re: Act 1, Scene 2: Scouting out the Unknown! - Yaztromo - 02-15-2014 "Sorry: no vacancies... please..." Re: Act 1, Scene 2: Scouting out the Unknown! - JesseOcasio - 02-15-2014 "We mean you no harm kind sir." Hororin calls out." We just want to talk." Re: Act 1, Scene 2: Scouting out the Unknown! - Yaztromo - 02-15-2014 You hear a brief, bitter laugh, then: "You can talk as much as you want." Of course the door didn't open by a single inch. Re: Act 1, Scene 2: Scouting out the Unknown! - Baldrick - 02-15-2014 Grumm frowned and looked back at the other buildings in the square, as if searching for other, more hospitable shops. "Perhaps we should look around town until half of the hour is passed," the Dwarf muttered, "there may be others willing to talk to us." |
