Re: The Hello Thread! - DarkHerald - 05-29-2019

I have been playing D&D since 1984 and had taken a break from most online communities. Greyhawk and Blackmoor are and will always be my first love.
Looking forward to see what you guys have done here.

I'm a Spanish guy (although I live in Germany) that's been passionate about RPGs since age 7. I'm now 31 so you can see I'm a bit late to the golden era of D&D.

WHERE in Germany? Confusedhock: Ya somos dos, entonces. Big Grin

Oh, yeah, and: Welcome, everyone! Smile

HIya, quozl!

The good news is, you're halfway there Big Grin

You can find the details in the Announcement at the top of the General Blackmoor Discussion forum.

When did you start gaming, and what was your game of choice? What finally brought you back into the fold? (Once a gamer, always a gamer, I say)

We made up our first RPG in middle school, copying what we'd heard about RPGs then. That was 1984. I didn't play a real RPG until high school, probably 1988.

I came back because my daughter got old enough to play and she loved it. We started with Basic Fantasy and I got really interested in the OSR movement and how RPGs were done originally. So here I am.

Like Rafe said,

Welcome to this latest surge of newcomers!

Poke around, and don't be afraid of resurrecting threads if you have something to add or a question to throw out there.

Most importantly: we want to know about YOUR Blackmoor. How have you used it? How have you tweaked it to fit your gaming group? What have your experiences with the various modules been like? (If none of the PCs in your group were eaten by giant frogs over the course of any of theTemples of the Frog, I will be very disappointed)

Even more importantly: what have you added to the setting that we can yoink for our own games? 8)

Eventually, I will get Rafe to make use of Uther's twin daughters in his projects.

Hello. Long time D&D player here, got my first Holmes' box set for my birthday in 1979. Found you because I follow the Swords & Stichery blog.

Re: The Hello Thread! - Rebmarine - 05-31-2019

Hello to the forum. I've been playing and DMing since 1979. I've "experimented" with a lot of different genres and game systems, but find myself continually returning to the "original" and 1E AD&D.

I saw mention of this forum on the Swords and Stitchery blog and wanted to add it to the collection of sites I follow.

Thanks for allowing me to join.

Hello. Could I please be added to the Bailiff Group?

I GM a Fantasy Hero campaign set in Blackmoor. I am always looking for new material to add that has a distinct Blackmoor feel.

Welcome, Mercutio!

Fantasy Hero is a system I vaguely remember hearing/seeing mentioned a ways back, but know nothing about.... How does it run? And -- more importantly -- how well does it do for running Blackmoor? Is is suitably pulpy, or does one have to work at it?

Ask again for your set of Baliff's keys over in the "How to Get the Goodies" topic, and Havard or I can run it by the Fetch.....
