Yeah, reading that in M&T was definitely a WTF moment. hock: Must have been one too many beers at the Monster Singles Bar. Also, I'll have to check out this Lord Sunsany the book refers to. Re: Hello. New to Blackmoor. - New Blackmoor DM - 07-19-2011 Hello again. Things may be ramping back up to make my Blackmoor campaign happen. I was wondering about firearms. Were firearms or guns ever used in the setting? Thanks. Re: Hello. I am not sure whether they were ever used when the group played individual characters or whether that was only something that was bought for units. Firearms were not included in the DA modules or the D20 line. IMC, dwarves have big and inaccurate archebuses, like this one: Rumour are that Thonians and Peshwah have both acquired much more advanced weapons originating from the Valley of the Ancients... -Havard Re: Hello. New to Blackmoor. - New Blackmoor DM - 08-07-2011 I see the code monkeys chose to delete the god Charis but then made a new feat that required the worship of that missing god. :? Any other significant gods missing from the 4E treatment? Re: Hello. New to Blackmoor. - Rafael - 08-08-2011 Eeeeeeeeeeeeeaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaasy there. Which book? Re: Hello. The one that I own has a black cover with Dave Arneson's Blackmoor written on the outside and "Blackmoor: The First Campaign" inside. Re: Hello. New to Blackmoor. - Rafael - 08-09-2011 Ah, okay, I was just confused because, frankly, I didn't recall the name of that deity, and wondered about your source. IIRC (I don't have it on me right now), the 4e treatment of the gods was complete, apart from the ones named in the Players' Guide to Blackmoor, but I would not recommend you to buy that book. However (and I haven't followed the thread that closely), I would always recommend you to get the BM d20 campaign setting HARD COVER as well, and probably, depending on your gusto, an additional guide for Greyhawk, Mystara, or the Wilderlands, for supplementary reasons. Personally, I have found that the Wilderlands work best for me in that sense, but this obviously depends on how you approach the setting. And, yes, indeed, I'd rather use those products than a lot of the BM d20 line, because of the trememdous variations in quality between the different books. Re: Hello. New to Blackmoor. - Havard - 08-09-2011 Actually I believe several gods are missing from the 4E book. Also, if you want to get the 3E book (Dave Arneson's Blackmoor), I recommend getting the softcover over the hardcover, as it contains revisions, a missing monk variant class, fixed editing and a really nice pull out map. Or you could always do like I did, get both 8) -Havard Re: Hello. New to Blackmoor. - Rafael - 08-09-2011 Was TTB also in the softcover? I don't have it on me right now... Re: Hello. I have the original hard cover book signed by Arneson himself. I also have the 4E softcover book. I have a few supplementary PDFs of stuff too. It is pretty difficult to get this stuff now that it is out-of-print and license cancelled. I am still looking to get some of the MMRPG's adventurers to rob for ideas. I am especially interested in the first one since it covers the Inn. If all goes well my first campaign session will be tonight. |
