I'm pretty sure that's against the Geneva Convention Wink

Well... I guess that you have two options:
1) a big players' book, where you write up a lot about your setting, but this knowlege is quite unexciting, as it comes for free, with no effort and no adventure attached
2) the players learn about the new setting bit by bit, so that what they learn comes with effort, but not everybody likes learning things the hard way and you need to have suitable adventures for this kind of introduction, and you also need to keep track of what your players just learnt about the setting, so you can plan next steps
Either way there are pros and cons.

Next game to start will be the first of the Redwood Scar adventure arc Wink

The campaign that grew up from the quick one-off started on the 1st of October keeps moving forward, with an average number of posts between 7 and 8 a day.
I changed its name to Blackmoor living world, after so many people told me that I was actually running a living world rather than a campaign or a game.
Some player is asking for longer adventures compared to the MMRPG stabdard, so I think I will go back to DA series...

Woof, Yaz! Again, this is very nice! - If you find the time, please post some info on the game in the campaign journal section of this board: Especially since your game seems to have started rather spontaneously, you might find this interesting to look at, in a few years. (That's what happened with me and most of my old BM files.)

Myself, I might make a small return to Blackmoor, after all: So, my players and I are fans of the tabletop game "Dungeon Saga", which is basically a thing somewhere between "Descend" and "Hero Quest". I think I might do a "Castle Blackmoor"-related scenario with this one, some time in the fall, perhaps around my birthday. Smile - The game doesn't really serve for D&D-ish big battles, but it certainly does for smaller skirmishes, so... Well, I gotta try. Big Grin

Not sure if it males sense making a campaign journal: after all I'm running published adventures, in general the same way they are written, apart from changing the ruleset...

I almost didn't click on this because I have never been able to find anything on rpol.net in the past, but this time it actually worked! Big Grin

And boy am I glad I decided to take a look. Wow, there is alot of great work here Yaz! Including the Pygmalion to the deity list? Very interesting!

I have to second Rafe's comment about posting from this on these boards! I would say both in the campaign journal section and perhaps other ideas as well. Would love to read more about this!

OK, I'll think about it...

BTW I understand your point of view about RPoL, as I felt really confused the first time I joined it, quite a few years ago, although now it feels OK and I customized it fine.
It has however a very good "group" feature, that allows easyly running several adventures with different characters separately at the very same time, that is very useful when running this kind of campaign.

Hehe, yeah, Yaz wrote a fine little setting primer. Smile I think it's fair to say that everyone here wants to know more about your game. So, share! Doo eet! Big Grin

I really don't think there is anything remarkable with it, as I'm fundamentally running published adventures with really minor tweaks, but, if it makes you feel better, you can have a look here viewtopic.php?f=76&t=8800
I just hope it won't be too boring Wink
