My envy.

It is considerable.

If you read my other stuff here, one month ago, my laundry machine was taken over by what looked likealiens from the planet Klendathu, and I'm still fighting their last surviving invaders.

This is my favorite fantasy series. They're so well developed in background and history. They're what Tolkien would have be like if he had cared more about characters than long descriptions of landscape.

I've been waiting for this series since over a year ago when I first heard HBO bought the rights to it. I was really happy because I knew only HBO would be able to do the series any justice. There are some questions I have about how they're going to translate some of the later quirks of the series if it continues past book 2. Like Sansa doesn't appear in 2 books, which may mean 2 or even 3 seasons without her. And the novels have been getting so long and hard to finish the series might actually catch up with the books.

I am very sure that the following seasons will substantially deviate from the original books - the 2nd book, for example,
can be blend into "A Storm of Swords" without much difficulty, and I sure hope some of the character arcs get shortened.

(For example, Therion could be cut without much problem, as could most of Arya's and Bran's arcs.)

For me personally, it will really come to how they manage the mass scenes and battles in the series.

So far, most scenes in the series were simply very small - the tournament, for example, was really a small disappointment,
because it was so downsized.

But yeah, I can't wait to see the rest of the episodes (got 1-4 by a friend, and the series just started here in Spain).

According to G.R.R. Martin, Season 2 is going to be A Clash of Kings and he is pushing for A Storm of Swords to be extended to 2 seasons, and for A Feast for Crows and A Dance With Dragons to be cut up into 3 seasons.

If anyone's arcs are going to be cut, I would expect them to be Theon Greyjoy or Davos Seaworth, not the dwarf Tyrion Lannister, who everyone already loves (I assume you meant Tyrion and that you're a fan of the Swedish symphonic metal band Therion? They're my favorite band.)

You're right about the feast. I was really expecting a huge lavish ordeal as it was portrayed in the books, but I guess HBO doesn't want to overdo it with the computer imaging.

Would obviously be cool, but I doubt that - simply, because a five-season series has to do exceptionally well.

I personally think we will see three seasons - until the end of "A Storm of Swords". But, hey, I'd love to be proven wrong! :)

- OH YEAH THERION!!! :D Ho Drakon Ho Megas!
