The minute I saw the post on Twitter, instead of responding to it (Ok, I did ask, Dave who?), I emailed Malia.

If Malia had said something like: Oh, I know the guy, he wants to do something nice for Dave - I would be 100% behind this convention.

The Arneson Estate was completely unaware of the event. We had a lot of discussion about the event. The Arneson Estate has chosen to remain silent.

The convention is not in any way sanctioned by the David L. Arneson Estate.

There is no information about this convention. No website, No Twitter account, except for Victor Dorso's personal one that I saw. There is a Facebook page with about 4 followers if you are interested.

My question, which mirrors other replies here: How is this convention about Dave Arneson aside from the name and the use of images of Dave Arneson? I feel like it is Ernie, Tim, And Frank Con. Why not rename it to: ETFcon?

I have advised many of the Blackmoor players of the status of this event not being "official" and they may do as they please. If they want to attend they are free to do so. I think it is important that we maintain cohesion within the Blackmoor faithful. I will not hold it against someone for going to this event.

Chris and I talked about it and we will not be attending as we were not invited.

I do not think we need to create any drama or dwell on this in any way. Let's just say that someone is doing something. ;)

What he said. This matches what I've heard about this event, and I agree with what's being said. If the event organizer had done the outreach to the Blackmoor Bunch and Malia before setting all this up, I think things would have taken a very different turn.

Locally, I'm near to the center of the firestorm, and not liking it one bit. This will do some long-lasting harm to the local gaming scene, I fear, and we just don't need that.

Cripes. Like I needed this on my day off, what with the sewer guys in the basement doing work on the lines... :?

Chirine,
We should start a thread where we talk about your input on my Tekumel/Metamorphosis Alpha mash up game.

It was really fun running my players through that while it lasted. I tried a lot of non orthodox ideas out, some worked and some failed.

Over all though, it was a great game!

I am tired of gamer drama and politics. I just want to dream up weird things for my players to deal with.
