Games are on Monday night sometime after 5:30PM at World's Best Comics, 9714 Warwick Blvd Newport News, Virginia 23601.

I forget what Pizza it was but I think it was yummy. I remember asking the owner from the menu what was the difference between a White and a Marguerite pizza and he said "salt".

++++ START OF SESSION ++++

We did not have a quorum this week due to Player's business commitments. However the two that did show up were able to go on as side mission. It dovetailed from the previous week.

If you recall, Jacko went off on his own and did not return. (Jacko is one of the two present of course.) The Player for the other character, Aerys was present. As it was just past Midnight (having freed the captives last session), and feeding off Aerys' naturally over-curious nature, she took a light and went off looking for Jacko down the same passage he had gone.

Flittering down the stairs silently on her wings, Aerys shortly came across the sound of snoring coming from behind a wall. Taking the obvious hint this was a secret door she quickly found the latch and entered therein, only to find Jacko asleep at the wheel, literally. Jacko was taking his night's rest next to a huge wheel of unknown purposes set into to the wall.

Previously, Jacko had completed his exporations a few hours before. He made his way back up the stairs and heard the moaning sounds. Taking the assumption it was the young Monks having a tryst (and not the as yet unfreed captives in pain), he decided not to disturb them and went back down behind the secret door he had found to sleep.

Aerys decided to wake Jacko up and they continued the reconnaissance.

After the next intersection they both went left and down some more stairs where they found large room with three doors and the continuation of the passage beyond. Making a mental note of it they backed up to the intersection and went down the other way also past some stairs with an almost identical room with three doors and a continuation passage.

In this room they decided to continue past the doors and through the next passage, Jacko first while Aerys held the light from behind. Jacko went down about twenty feet and

What followed next was a seesaw battle with the smelliest, dirtiest, Goblins they had ever seen; Slobgoblins.

Being outnumbered 10 to 1, Jacko fought stepping backwards each round until meeting up with Aerys where at least they were only outnumbered 5 to 1. The only thing that saved them were the absolutely dismal damage the Slobgoblins were dishing out. They hit easily enough but due to the ill-kept condition of their clubs (a minus one to all their damage rolls), they averaged out to 1 or 2 points of damage per hit. (One reason they are called Slobgoblins.)

Meanwhile Jacko and Aerys hit just as well but caused an average of 9 to 13 points of damage per hit. (They both were in the Great Honor window and got plus one to all their rolls, and Jacko had a plus 3 strength bonus to damage.)

The tide turned quickly just before the end. Damage finally took its toll and broke the Slobgoblins' morale so they turned round and fled. Aerys and Jacko took advantage of their attacks bonus from the rear benefit. (Never turn your back and retreat from a Thief.)

Finally they cornered the Slobgoblin Leader and took him prisoner. Using enhanced interrogation techniques they found more about these underground environs they could never have known otherwise. They decided to return and brief the party upstairs.

Waking up the Party the party was briefed that half this dungeon was controlled by a two foot high creature with tall pointy long ears. He was in charge of a dozen heavily armed Brigands of the Eight Pointed Star. They had been using this lair to make raids on distant trade routes in order to keep their hideout a secret. The other half of this dungeon was a lair of a group of undead Ghouls who keep mostly to themselves in the ancient burial crypt section. Sometimes they come out looking for the occasional live "snack".

Tossing and chaining up the Slobgoblin leader in the same room the prisoners were freed from the Party set watch and went back to sleep, seeing it was about 2AM.

++++ OUT OF CHEESE ERROR ++++

P.S. Aerys was voted MVP and raised up to 3rd Level Thief, (Cutpurse).
