in their defense, the ritual for summoning an Outer Being and the ritual for summoning an Old One are really close. The phrase "La mayyitan ma qadirun yatabaqqa sarmadi. Fa idha yaji' al-shudhdhadh fa-l-maut qad yantahi." would have worked except it was designed for neh-thalggu, and the Sar Aigu can't pronounce Neh-thalggu words correctly with their lisping, piscine mouths, nor fully conceptualize their ideas with only one brain each. Thus, sarmadi came out tharmadi, and tharmadi is the name of the sigil that guards the path through the Dimensional Vortex. Easy mistake.

Also, you can't get fresh dfjrti root outside the Dimension of Nightmares.
