++++ START OF SESSION ++++
Skipping the Intelligence Check on the Nature of Serena (mainly because the grumpy old man was killed too fast), the party finally decided to take a methodical approach to exploring this Nexus.
I'm skipping the less important encounters of this session. Of worthy mention was another grumpy old man whom they did not kill, but simply transported it to the other end and out of walking distance to catch up to the party again.
Mostly the party went about exploring empty caves, primarily because they drew out the inhabitants and dealt with them earlier. Of course they hadn't dealt with everything, so eventually they came to a cave that still had an occupant.
A flying brain.
Well a flying brain with two claws and a medulla oblongata that penetrates into other brains.
Even so, when faced with the half-dozen Icosahedraons of contract 27B stroke 6, it retreated and made mental contact with Jacko.
"I just want to be left alone." said the voice in Jacko's head.
So Jacko makes a deal, he asks "Where is the next Gem for the Orb of Abyssal Death?"
"Oh that trifle, it's just the next cave down and the ramp up." said the mental phrase. "By the way you wouldn't happen to have any brains for my lunch?"
"Sure," said Jacko. There's a whole bunch just outside." (Referring to recent elimination of the Gibbering Goblins and other monsters a few sessions back.)
So the party makes it to the rendezvous, point. Jacko invokes the last gem, and via a bit of Deus ex Machina the party found itseft back topside inside the ground floor of the Temple of Existential Evil in front of the Throne that they couldn't get to (due to a magical barrier) when they first arrived.
The next bit of information is that Jacko now knows how to operate the throne. It's actually an elevator that sends you to the another unexplored area of the dungeon. Of course it's a HUGE throne, big enough for the entire party to fit on the seat.
