This time we had a plain cheese pizza, with extra cheese.

Games are on Tuesdays sometime around 5:30PM at World's Best Comics, 9714 Warwick Blvd Newport News, Virginia 23601.

PART 1.

++++ START OF SESSION ++++

The party was on the first level of Hell on the path to the City of Dis on the second level. Which meant they had to go to the only known stable gate to the next level. This gate just happens to be in the lair of the Queen of Dragons, Tiamat.

In any case on the journey their first encounter was with a immense horde of demons, led by the Pit Fiend Bel, the party had a 50 percent chance to hide, and they made it.

After an interminable amount of time interrupted by four sleep periods the path led them to a huge pit full of Lemures and Nupperibos 1000 yards across, the other side of which contained a huge opening fit for the Dragon Queen. Rather than take any offer provided by the guardians of the maggot pit (more Abishai devils) they all took flying potions and once again, made it to the other side.

At the entrance the party debated what to do for another epoch. When they went inside they found a major cave with four tunnels leading off to who knows where. Numrendir then cast a Monster Summoning I spell. Noting the fact that anything he summons now comes from THIS plane and there is now a greater chance they will be disobedient. Anyway he got a couple of Imps and sent them off into one of the tunnels that branched off to the right that had a glow the other branch going straight led into darkness. One Imp came back and reported he had to fight an urge to be drawn to a pile of treasure at the other end while the other Imp swam a small lake in order to get to that same mound of treasure.

The party promptly decided that tunnel was a trap and let the Summoning spell expire.

Numrendir cast another Summoning Spell and got five obedient Hellspiders. He sent 2 down one tunnel but as soon as they started they came back. If a Hellspider could look scared, they did. Avoiding THAT tunnel they tried another tunnel that split off into two branches. Two Spiders that went down one branch came back. Three others that went down the other branch did not. By this time the spell expired, the Hellspiders disappeared, so the party decided to follow the path the Hellspiders came back from. It got hot. So hot they had to turn back without taking damage.

Once more Numrendir cast another Monster Summoning I and got four Soul Larvae (souls of the evil departed, mainly used as tasty snack food by Devils). They sent them on their way down the next tunnel, which also branched off in two directions. Two came back and two did not after hearing some pitiful screams. So the Party headed down the safer branch.

What they found was a deep dark pit of unknown depths. About 500 feet away across it, appeared to be a small mountain peak on top of which was perched a huge Blue Dragon. The party simply decided to back away quietly...

Lastly the party went back to the tunnel that branched off into the glow and the other branch into the darkness. Casting one more Monster Summoning I, Numrendir got four more Hellspiders, these ones were disobedient and attacked. Honda nearly got herself killed with a self-inflicted wound when Numrendir realized all he had to do was dismiss his own spell.

They decided to go down that last branch on their own. Presuming mere sight of the pile of Treasure was what attracted victims into its trap, they kept their backs to the golden glow of that branch of the tunnel they moved on. Finally they came to a pair of huge double doors with pull rights ten feet high off the ground. One of them got up there and pulled on one door while keeping using their foot on the other door for traction. Getting by this they were attacked by another Hellspider which was easily dispatched.

Several yards further down they came to a rock that spoke. "Those who would enter Dis must crawl!"

Left with that clue we ended the session.
