This time I had a coupon and got a 12 piece chicken dinner from Kentucky Fried Chicken, 3 large sides, 6 dinner rolls and a 32 ounce bottle of Colt 45.

Games are on Tuesdays sometime around 5:30PM at World's Best Comics, 9714 Warwick Blvd Newport News, Virginia 23601.

PART 1.

++++ START OF SESSION ++++

The party loaded their boat, made changes to spells memorized. But otherwise didn't really do much. They also backtracked to in the timeline to Blackmoor to make some last minute changes. In keeping with developing new/old technology fromWillis Strom from the city of the Gawds (and also former Temple of the Frog officer), now he is head of Research and Development for King Uther. We double checked the books of high risk investments Numrendir made a year and a half earlier with Willis and Numrendir earned a whopping eighteen percent of his nearly 2K platinum pieces, thus alleviating the need for student loans for his advancement training curriculum.

Another part of the technology spectrum behind research was communication technologies. Since there was only a limited supply outer space technology from the City of the Gawds that can't be duplicated due to the lack of Buy Parts only available from off-world suppliers (and even so it would have been an intergalactic violation of non-transferable dual-use technologies), Willis had to make do with whatever raw material he had on hand. Meaning he had to go deep into his own history and reinvent tube and crystal technology. The few pocket communicators already dispersed to the party were limited. So Willis developed three types of items that could be placed into production.

#1 A base station transmitter that can be heard anywhere on the planet, except of course due to anomalies by propagation such as skip zones that don't reflect nicely off the troposphere. (Think of them like ley-lines where reception doesn't work.) The only one built is at the Castle BlackMoor as evidenced by the horizontal long wire antennas stretched between the castle towers.

#2 A desktop base station version with a transmit range of 500 miles. Just within range between BlackMoor and the Temple of the Frog (or Huang's new Monastery). The party obtained two on Beta Test and installed one on their ship and the other for installation at Huang's new Monastery.

#3 A portable version that can be carried on one arm and weighs about 15 pounds. It has a transmit range of 100 miles but can receive from any base station within their transmit range. Looks somewhat like a loaf of French bread with four foot wire that is retractable. Has a limited time it can be used before needing recharging.

There are 10 possible frequencies allowed by the devices. It was originally envisioned that there only needed to be one frequency attuned to one of the frequencies on the the alien pocket transmitters, since there was no one else on the planet, but then the party reminded Willis that an Ancient Red Dragon captured one of the pocket devices and could be listening in. So the new devices were fitted with 9 other frequencies the pocket devices did not use so they could communicate privately. The party's new standard operating procedure is the Ancient Red Dragon is always listening in any frequency on the pocket devices. So when the request is to "go secure" on a pocket communicator, that means the party has to switch to a larger item made by Willis.

(It could also be argued that secure communication can also be had via Magic User spells and magic items, however not in the quantities that Willis could mass produce for the BlackMoor Army.)

Huang and Honda, having much earlier entitled Baronet and Baronetess were granted lands to the former Temple of the Frog and it's environs (a.k.a. Frog Island). Since Huang as a 9th level Monk is eligible to construct his Monastery, and since he wants to set his Monastery on his own lands, they set sail for the Temple of the Frog.

If you recall, the Party's other motive for going back to the Temple of the Frog is to research the history of the Frogs, as it was rumored they were once were in control of Vyet Naaaam.

They arrived without incident but upon arrival they noticed a large scaffold were the former Temple was before they destroyed it. Apparently the Temple of the Frog is under reconstruction.
