This Tuesday we departed from from the usual and had Tacos. Real cheap Tacos, the kind you get a dozen for ten bucks at Taco Bell. (Two dozen).

++++ START OF SESSION +++++

Per last memo, (table repeated at bottom), the first thing was to roll for the severity of the volcanic eruption and the result was 471, a "Severe" eruption and a plume of 3-5km.

Giving the party but a short time to get out, get out they did. Although Elefus was not available with his usual Teleportation Tooth, Bosero the Drunkard had a Dimension Door with its own limits. So they assembled in the usual manner to jump into a Bag of Holding and go. Fundisha swept up as much of Junkbot's dust as she could.

Albeit with a new discovery. If you recall, the Party's procedure for Teleporting out, involved Weasel's Wand of Diminution before everyone hops into a bag of holding before they took off. This wand was custom-made with with similar but not quite the same effect per charge as a potion of the same name. Instead a charge shrinks the recipient geometric rate per charge. So assuming a 6 foot character, the wand could shrink him thus:

Inches:
72
64.8
52.4
38.2
25.1
etc.

So to get the Party (and others) two feet tall, Weasel needed to expend 4 charges each. Which was enough to get the party, Degern and his entourage, and the four new allies. Saving one charge so the Wand would not be expended. They told the Grimlocks they were on their own and said Good-Bye.

As an afterthought, that left Elefus, Polymorphed into a Giant Centipede (12 inches).

A way out for Elefus was easy enough. Even though he was Polymorphed and all his equipment was subsumed into his new form, his extra Tooth that lets him Teleport was an Artifact and thus not affected. I could get him out in two ways, first the party would either notice there was a Giant Centipede with a big bucktooth and take him or second, Elefus could touch his own tooth and Teleport himself. For ease of reassembling the Party after this was over, the Party chose the first method.

That still left the two mile long tunnel the party had created. The "Brothas" and Elefus freed slave army were at the other end, watching the horses (that was done previously, in case it wasn't reported). I presumed the tunnel collapses during the eruption, and allowed them to be saved.

That left the eruption itself.

A Dimension Door is limited, giving the party the allowance due to the Bag of Holding and the Wand of Diminution, its range due to Bosero's level would only be 420 Yards, almost a quarter mile) if he goes for an upward angle away from the volcano. Far enough for a movie close call to escape out the erupting plume. So I had them roll call for a direction of 8 points on a grid, then rolled an 8 sided die to see if the plume matched their direction, which it did not. Otherwise they would have been toasted.

That left the Party to sort and clean themselves up.

Bosero the Drunkard rescued Elefus by his reversal of a Polymorph Other, spell.

Taking the time for Elefus to Teleport as above, the Party hightails it back to Blackmoor, Fletcher Williams landing pad, to be exact.

++++ MISSION COMPLETE ++++

Per the module, Characters were paid a rate of 10.5K gold pieces. Except for Junkbot, dead people don't get paychecks.

First item on the agenda, was for Fundisha to resurrect Junkbot. The going rate for Resurrection by the Bishop of Blackmoor was 14K gold pieces. Falling a little short, Fundisha had to take out a loan (losing a point of honor) from Honda, whom the Player took out of nearby retirement. And yes, Junkbot survived his Resurrection Survival roll. (Too late to make payroll of course.)

Technically the next item on the docket was Elefus' divorce proceedings but since that does not happen due to the Player's absence, we moved on.

Next Fundisha trained to level up. Going from Level 2 to 3 in two classes required 4 weeks of training. Otherwise, no event.

Numrendir trained to level up to level 6, five weeks and fails. Retakes the course and passes 10 weeks later.
