We had a large sausage and onion pizza. Instead of the usual free beer we had a fifth of Johnny Walker Red Label and Club Soda to share.

We are entering the Doldrums due to the Summer heat and are experiencing Player attendance problems (even though there is Air Condition at the Brick and Mortar comic book store. Next week we'll be entering Boardgame Summer Tuesday nights at World's Best Comics, 9714 Warwick Blvd Newport News, VA 23601. Usually in the lounge. We will probably play the old Avalon Hill "Civilization" or "Rail Baron".

++++ START OF SESSION ++++

Since the module is over we spent the evening in character maintenance and leveling up.

Junkbot Jackson went through Ranger and Cleric school for 4 weeks campaign time each and is now level 5 on both categories.

Junkbot's Player brought back out of retirement the Huang/Honda team and reintroduced Huang as his Primary character. Which means Junkbot and Fundisha will have to become NPCs, and earn experience at half rate.

(Note the following is my interpretation of standard HackMaster character generation rolls. Some sentences are direct quotes from the manuals.)

The Player for Numrendir decided to roll up a Sidekick and introduced a multiclass Magic-User/Thief, a Grey-Elf named Slim. Although Slim was accepted into Magic User University, he had a negligent instructor, who forgot he even existed unless he got in the way. He thus became Obsessive-Compulsive, and acquired the skills of Minor Taunting and Livestock Slaughter. He was only taught Cantrips, and his professor never gave him his initial spell book so he had to steal one.

Being perennially on academic probation, he barely squeaked by and graduated only on a technicality. Perhaps this was due to two things first, joining a Fraternity where he became a Skilled Liar and secondly, he had a "Crush" on a female student, who easily convinced him to occupy most of his study time to join her freako druidical band of tree hugging vegetarians. They made a nuisance of themselves all over campus lecturing everyone on how they should not use paper and should use cuneiform instead. Then one day she dropped out of her gang and was later seen holding hands with the captain of the jousting squad. (Slim lost 5 honor points.)

The other half of Slim's multi-class being a Thief, he now had a reason to become one. He had difficulty finding Magic User employment due to his low class standing, so Slim took to the streets and found new friends among the Thieves who took him under their wing and trained him. During his apprenticeship, he was arrested only three times and served 1.75 years in jail, but also gained a permanent dues free membership in the local Thieves guild. He also gained a useful contact in Law Enforcement (his probation officer).

I would otherwise have brought in Slim the Sidekick at half the party's average level. I may yet raise him to that as a benefit next week. If not, well a Sidekick is just that, a Sidekick.
