I don't know how this came up in my head, probably it's a mix of Beowulf influences and and angry neighbour that always complained about noise when I was playing with my friends as a children, but, in the campaign I'm running in Blackmoor right now, I added the extra flavour that Giants don't like noise: like you are riding on pebbles and making noise and a Giant (random monster encounter) shows up complaining you are making too much noise as he just wants to sleep and attacks you. In other occasions, if you make a loud noise enough, the Giant will walk away.
It is just a minor twist, adding some depth to a race otherwise a bit dull (it also explains why Giants like living in the wilderness, like passing their lives quietly and alone, etc.), but I noticed the players picked it up nicely and enjoyed this little detail. What do you think?
