Games are on Thursday night sometime after 5:30PM at World's Best Comics, 9714 Warwick Blvd Newport News, Virginia 23601.

Again I forgot what kind of pizza we had because it has been almost a week. Which leads me to the summary which should only be highlights for the same reason. That, and I took no notes worthwhile. At least there was no combat, so there is less detail to remember.

++++ START OF SESSION ++++

We left off with Elefus defeating the big Battlemage and a couple of Ogres. One thing I left out was as soon as the Battlemage died the general lighting turned red and there was an alarm.

(This was the lowest level of the dungeon and closest to the command center, and had more amenities, like light and flushing toilets.)

Meanwhile the remaining Ogres from the kitchen (yes the kitchen was the right side adjoining room) started to approach Elefus with their meat cleavers in hand. They where stopped by the Hill Giant by saying: "Leave these guys alone, they're MY friends!" Then, pointing to one of the Ogres, "Besides YOU just got promoted to Head Cook!" (Replacing the one who just got killed in the battle.)

Casually stepping inside the hallway and closing the door to the Kitchen, Scorpp the Hill Giant reacquaints himself with the Party. (Having led the party here two sessions before.)

Scorpp morphs into a female Half-Elf, (a 9th level Druid to be exact, which explains the shape change). She introduces herself as Kella, Blackmoor's deepest cover spy, sent by Fletcher William himself. "Sometimes the Infiltrator class just can't play the role properly." she says. She further explains, "The real Scorpp went rogue, and is up on the next level with a personal harem of female Ogres and Bugbear slaves. It was rather easy to take his place down here." "Meanwhile we need to take care of the alarm." she says. "I presume you've noticed the Secret Door opposite?"

Jack had noticed this, but the game was taken up with the Druid's explanation. Finding the door Wizard Locked apparently by the dead Battlemage and rather than take up time to undo the spell, Elefus kicked it down.

Their new Druid friend went through the busted door, pulled a lever and the lighting went back to normal. Next she pushed a button, spoke into a grille with a close approximation of the former Battlemage's spellcasting voice: "This was only a drill, repeat this was only a drill. Return to your regular duties of Evil."

Having bought some time. The party looted the Battlemage's secret room. I'll skip the details.

Next the party "gently" interrogated their recently Charmed 7th Level Cleric friend. (The Cleric they Charmed two sessions ago.) His name is "Barkinar", and up and comer in the Temple's hierarchy. Of note they learned his Black Scarab broach will get him past the trapped curtain in the Greater Temple. (Just around the corner.)

They also learned the gems to the Orb of Abyssal Death they were carrying could be found on Demi-planes of existence, the nexus gates to which were down even further hallways, eight in all. However half of the eight gates will send a traveler to one of the layers of the Abyss. So the question remains, which gates to choose?

By further deduction they learned from their charmed Cleric the temple used the gates to send "sacrifices" to their doom. The temple used all eight nexus gates equally, no sacrifice had ever returned, although betimes a Demon will emerge, saying they had been there for a "vacation" or a "light snack". They they would either gate away on their own or go down another gate.

By means of the Cleric's "best guess", they determined one gate had a propensity of similar Demons going in and coming out. So it must have been an Abyssal vacation "hot spot". The Party opted for that. But they had to get past the Greater Temple chamber which is closely guarded by a gaggle of Gargoyles and who knows what else.

(I'll avoid detailed descriptions of rooms and hallways to shorten this missive.)

The Party decided to don all the black robes they could find (purple being persona non-grata via the dungeon grapevine) and by the way one Party member also took the Battlemage's robe and Black Scarab. One of Huang's Monk (Sum Ting Wong, a shemale) was disrobed and made to look like a virtual sacrifice.

Escorting him, her, err ... it, past the Gargoyles, the Party went down the Purple corridor ostensibly to atone for the Purple factions' sins. They went past a Formorian Giant guard partway down the hall and continued on. They were immediately followed by another Formorian Giant, so the Party stopped and surreptitiously palmed their weapons for combat. This merely Giant walked past them muttering about those "damned bloody drills and false alarms."

Catching their breath the party followed this new Giant and caught up with him and two Giant Cheetah Cockroaches in the chamber at the end of the hall. Explaining their need for a fresh sacrifice, they sent Sum Ting Wong through into the gate and he/she/it disappeared in a puff of logic.

Expecting a return trip the party waited, Sum Ting Wong never came back. So as a group they told the Giant the Purple Faction's sins needed a greater sacrifice, as a result and to the Giant's relief, the entire party went through the gate.

They found Sum Ting Wong safe and sound. "By the way," Aerys taking long pause before handing them over, "here are your robes."

The Party also found itself in a sunken depression surrounded by ruins in an oval area about 350' by 450' in size.

(I originally told the Players they were at the top of a mound on a plain, (also with ruins). I had merely interpreted the map symbols backwards.)
