Here you can see how I adapted Blackmoor for Advanced Fighting Fantasy 2nd Edition, even if that ruleset was born for another setting (Titan and not Blackmoor). I found that the two most important magic styles in AFF2 (Wizardry and Sorcery) work perfectly well in Blackmoor with some minor background adaptation and the Talent Focus (again, with some minor adaptation) seems matching perfectly what the Wizards' Cabal craves for.
Overall, I think it is a very good quickstart option, even if it doesn't have "traditional" levels and classes (that were almost always present in Backmoor history), but lately I really need a very low crunch ruleset.
