Penalties for Armor in Junge/Desert Environments?

Given the , which penalties would you consider for PCs insisting on walking around in such environments with leather or metal armor?

For the desert environment I remember that this is covered in the Ylaruam Gazzetteer... that I don't have close to my hands at the moment...

Also, the Nithia Hollow World Accessory has some material on the desert environment and its effect on adventurers, if I remember rightly...
