This discussion made me read up a bit on Bramwald.

I find it really interesting how Bramwald is technically still part of the Thonian Empire, while its ruler, Bram Tagus is also a member of Uther's Regency council and has forged strong ties to the Regent of the Mines. Furthermore, it is interesting how, according to DA1, Bram Tagus enjoys the support of the Emperor to balance against the Iron Duke. I did not realize that Iyx was so aware of the Iron Duke's ambitions.

This really shows how complex the politcal alliances of Blackmoor are after Uther breaks with the Empire. Pretty fascinating!
