Commented on that one extensively, over at KnK, last month: Vulture business habits like this one just quite plainly take the fun out of the hobby. Then again, calling a second company *TSR*, and working with brand names that other people at least have a partial claim to, simply not the smartest thing in the world.

I hope the Hobby Shop Dungeon project really is as good as it looks to be, because it would mark a new beginning for Gygax' sons if they could establish their own brand. I've always liked their stuff, and I hope they find success outside from the freakshow that the commemoration of their father seems to have become.

Always a shame when this kind of project gets axed. While I never felt that Gygax magazine was up to "early Dragon magazine" standards, it was a lot better than a lot of the stuff out there and I'm sad to see it vanish.

I guess if anyone has any issues left in their subscription, this is supposed to translate into credit with the company. I need to figure out how many issues I had left and what other goodies they have created.

As an interesting one-year-later update, I was going through my e-mail inbox and re-discovered the letter that told me about this. I logged in and realized that I had never cashed in my credit, and that it was still there in my account. Still trying to decide what to buy, however, as one of the modules that I wanted was sold out and other stuff promised appears not to have been completed yet.

So sad that Gygax magazine got killed. :(
