While I was traveling, I bought the book "The Immortal Prince", by Jennifer Fallon.
This book, while rather mediocre and full of known and over-used tropes, reads like an account of an industrial-age Mystara, and, I am not sure about the details, but I am pretty sure the writer is an avid Mentzerian D&D player.
In an age where everybody goes all fuzzy about GRRM, this might be a refreshing read for those rather bored by most fantasy books, yet looking for some new input.
As to the connection to Mystara, think the Voyahe of the Princess arc in an early 19th century setting. :)
Yours,
Rafe, pondering to buy the second book in the series as well
