Known Characers
Arghat
Arghat is a half-orc known to spend time at the Black Gull inn. He loves a good bar brawl, beer and good food. It is said that he was a good sailor until he lost his left hand, which is now replaced with a hook.
Brother Egil
Brother Egil is a priest at the Temple of the God of Knowledge. His concern for others has often gotten him in trouble. With the death of High Priest, he is now the most experienced priest at the Temple of Knowledge.
Cal
Cal is a kid who often made his way working for the wrong people. In spite of his young age, he knows the city quite well.
Hanz and Franz
These two yellow-bearded twins are regulars at the Black Gull, and although usually friendly, they are surprisingly often involved in the frequent bar brawls there. They are able sailors and friends of Arghat.
Inzo, the Tailor
Inzo was once an initiate of the Brotherhood of the Yellow Sign. His interest for the occult has recently faded and is currently trying to manage his business as a tailor, though this has not been very successful, in spite of his moderate skills in the trade.
Kardasiel, the Harbor Master
Kardasiel, is the elf who is in control of the docks. Commanding a large force of soldiers, Kardasiel makes sure that no illegal goods are smuggled into the city through the docks. All shipments are to be made through the Warehouse District. Kardasiel takes his job very seriously and won’t let his control over the Docks be compromised.
K’Stallo
K’Stallo is a Serpent Man and the last priest of Yig. He has for some time assumed the identity of High Priest Thuron at the Temple of Knowledge, but after this was revealed he has promised to step down and only act as an advisor to the temple. He is dedicated to combating the
Lucius, the Librarian
Lucius was once a Librarian of the Temple of Knowledge, but was possessed by an otherworldly creature. While possessed he undertook strange journeys and what he discovered is unknown. He was later kidnapped and tortured by the Brotherhood of the Yellow sign, and though he was rescued he hasn’t been himself since.
Milos (Killed)
Milos was a Serpent Man who posed as a priest of the God of Knowledge. However, he was actually a servant of the Unspeakable One. This was discovered and he was eventually killed.
Miranda
Miranda is a delicate elf-like girl who used to work in the Dreaming Street. However, she has managed to escape that life and is currently often seen around Thalis, or spending time at the Bilge Rat.
Norton, Temple’s Assistant
Norton is a young novice at the Temple of the God of Knowledge. In spite of all the recent trouble at that place, he has proved able to keep his head calm.
Old Gilliam
Old Gilliam is a gruff unfriendly priest at the Temple of Harrimast. He is easily recognized by his long unkept beard and his wooden leg.
Captain Scarbelly
Captain Scarbelly is a notorious orc pirate, manning a ship manned only by orcs. Scarbelly is a gruff and brutal creature, feared by all but the foolish.
Thuron, High Priest of the God of Knowledge (Deceased)
Thuron was the High Priest of the God of Knowledge, but died, apparently of old age. Secretly he was replaced by K’Stallo who assumed his identity for some time. See K’Stallo for details.
Verlaine, Councilor (Murdered)
Councilor Verlaine was until recently the head of the Captain’s Council, Freeport’s ruling council. The details of his involvement with the Brotherhood of the Yellow Sign are unclear. Most likely, he was a pawn who was murdered when he was no longer useful to the cause. Hi
